One day. Every continent. Thousands of women who ride and the stories that prove it. IFRD was born in 2007 with a simple mission: show the world how many of us there are. Twenty years later, we're still here. Louder than ever.
About the Day
International Female Ride Day was founded in 2007 by Vicki Gray with a simple, powerful mission: get women on motorcycles on the same day, all around the world, to show that we're here, we ride, and we're not going anywhere.
Every year on the first Saturday of May, women in over 120 countries start their engines together. No race. No competition. Just a global celebration of female riders who show up, for themselves and for each other.
MotoQueens Global is the media storytelling home for IFRD. We don't just celebrate the day. We document the stories behind it. Every rider who shows up deserves to be seen.
Women riding on every continent
First Saturday of May, every year since 2007
"IFRD creates the global moment. MotoQueens creates the permanent story record. Every woman who rides deserves to have her story told."
Ali Pagsuyuin, MotoQueens Global20th Anniversary Series
For IFRD's 20th anniversary, MotoQueens Global is collecting the stories of women riders from every continent, one for every year IFRD has existed. Long-form interviews. Real riders. The history of this movement, told by the people who lived it.
Are you hosting an IFRD event? Have a story from IFRD history worth telling? We want to hear from you.
MotoQueens × IFRD
Three years. One growing community. And one unforgettable moment that brought it full circle.
During the pandemic, nobody around Ali seemed to be celebrating IFRD. So she made it happen herself. She put the word out, reached out to brands and dealerships for sponsorship, and invited every woman rider in Winnipeg and the surrounding area to come. It grew beyond anything she expected.
More riders. More stories. More momentum. Year two confirmed what year one hinted at: women riders in Manitoba wanted a home, and MotoQueens was becoming exactly that. The community wasn't just showing up for the ride. They were showing up for each other.
By year three, MotoQueens Canada had brought the founder of IFRD herself, Vicki Gray, all the way to Winnipeg to ride with us. The woman who started this movement in 2007 joined the community that grew from it. The rest, as they say, is history.
IFRD will always be part of the MotoQueens story. It's where our roots are. As we expand to MotoQueens Global in 2026, IFRD is not a moment we celebrate once a year. It is the proof of concept for everything we're building. Women riders want to be seen. We're building the infrastructure to make that happen, year round, worldwide.
