A Black Sea coast that stretches south into something wide and warm and salt-tinged. She chose to ride in a country where moto culture is still largely male-dominated. She did it anyway. This is her highlight reel. Bulgaria is not a country you see much in Western moto media. It sits at the crossroads of the Balkans — bordered by Romania, Serbia, Greece, Turkey, and the Black Sea. It has a 1,300-year history. It gave the world the Cyrillic alphabet. It survived the Ottoman Empire. It came through communism. It joined the EU in 2007. The women who ride here have a particular kind of backbone. Shipka Pass cuts through the Stara Planina at over 1,100 metres, lined with monuments to a 19th century war of liberation. The Rhodope Mountains wind through ancient villages where time moves slowly. The Black Sea coastal road opens into clifftop views and fishing villages that riders from across the region come back to year after year. Ivelina rides all of it. She is part of a generation of Bulgarian women quietly rewriting what this space looks like. And she is part of a global movement that now reaches 120 countries — International Female Ride Day, built by Vicki Gray of MOTORESS over 20 years.
