She shoots for DWELL Magazine and WestJet and builds platforms so women get paid for their work. Then she goes home and rides. Jarusha Brown is a commercial photographer based in the South Okanagan, BC. She has been behind the lens for nearly 20 years. She built her career from the ground up, shot for some of the most recognized brands in Canada, and helped found The Luupe, a global platform created so women and non-binary photographers stop being overlooked and start getting hired. She is also a rider. Not because it fits her brand. Not because it looks good. Because she loves it. In this interview we talk about what it feels like to spend your career teaching people how to see, and then get on a bike and disappear into the world. We talk about coming home to the Okanagan after years away. About building community in industries that were not made for you. About belonging. And about what riding gives her that nothing else does.
